The Albatross Fly By

Calling all bird spotters! Two very rare birds have found themselves inland and are keen to have a look around. Stop and say hello or watch them from afar as these magnificent creatures whoosh, soar and swoop above your head, spreading their magic and music as they go.

The Albatross Fly By is available to book for festivals, events and educational settings.

Originally created as a way to bring theatre back into educational settings during the COVID 19 pandemic, The Albatross Fly By is a magical and playful walkabout show currently touring schools and nurseries across Wiltshire in partnership with Wiltshire Creative and thanks to funding from Tesco Community Grants. HOW IT WORKS

Two spectacular, life-sized Albatross puppets first appear at the windows, bringing with them music and the sound of the sea as they gently interrupt the school day by swooping and gliding into view. The children can watch from inside or join the albatross as they playfully explore the playground; swooping, dancing, coming down low for strokes and finding ways to be cheeky too! The show ends with the birds collecting up a giant piece of fruit (pre-delivered to the nursery).

The show can be tied into the children's wider learning and linked to bird spotting, binocular making or hide building. The walkabout involves giant fruit, which can be tied into a growing theme.

Some settings choose to end the show with the albatross returning one last time with a gift for the children - a bird spotting book or a packet of seeds. The show is flexible and bespoke details can be arranged for each setting.
